a. Sulphonated Formaldehyde

This is a chemical used as additive with cement for bringing down cement requirement for civil constructions.
 



      Assam Petro-Chemicals Ltd. (APL) is amongst the few prestigious PSUs under state Govt. APL is implementing a mega project of 500TPD Methanol and 200 TPD Formaldehyde with a total capital outlay of Rs 1709 Crore with the equity participation from the Govt. of Assam (including AIDC & AGCL) & M/s Oil India Ltd.The company has already issued work order to M/S Engineers India Ltd. (EIL), New Delhi (with technology know-how from Haldor Topsoe , Denmark) for LEPCM services for its 500TPD Methanol plant in the adjacent location of the existing plant under the Methanol-Formalin project. APL has also engaged M/s Tata Consulting Engineers Ltd. (TCE) as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) for implementation of the project.

      The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi virtually dedicated the 500 TPD Methanol Plant in service to the Nation on 14.04.2023.

      Besides the project work of 200 TPD Formalin Plant at Boitamari, Bongaigaon is well in progress.

      APL is on its way to be a major Petro-Chemicals complex in the NER thereby opening a new horizon in the industrialization of Assam with its new Methanol-Formalin project. APL would usher economic stability, increase production & productivity & generate direct & indirect employment in Northeast region.
